Preparing for Worship – June 14, 2015

This week, we will begin our service by remembering the work that God has done for us by reading from Ephesians, chapter 1.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. – Ephesians 1:3

After welcoming one another, we will then confess our sin and sing the John Newton hymn, One Hanging On A Tree to remind ourselves that the only way we can experience forgiveness of our sins is through the work of Jesus on the cross.

Thanks be to God that Jesus paid for all of our sin and we can now experience life!

Jesus Paid It All

We then continue in our series on the book of Judges. In this week’s passage, we see how God raised up Ehud and Shamgar to deliver his people in Chapter 3, verses 12-31.

Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, and the Lord raised up for them a deliverer, Ehud, the son of Gera, the Benjaminite, a left-handed man. – Judges 3:15a.

We will continue to remember God’s work on behalf of his people as we sing and participate in communion together.
